fast encrypted drive
I got this because work requires PGP or equivalent encryption of hard drives. Everything written to this disk is automatically encrypted using your Windows credentials as a key, with no setup required.
ATTO disk benchmark shows that when writing files 2048-8096 KB in size there is a noticeable performance drop. This is probably to do with the encryption as my PGP-encrpyted drive had a similar performance drop. However, for files 1024 KB and smaller it is identical to other SSDs, e.g. 256 KB files have 503 MB/s write and 506 MB/s read speeds.
I've been running builds for the past month and they are significantly faster than on my old 7200 RPM PGP-encrypted drive.
Very glad I purchased this!
